Chipinge Crown Art and Craft

Chipinge Crown Art & Craft is a collective of gifted, hardworking women from the Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe — a region known for its misty mountains, ancient trees, and deep cultural memory. From young women to seasoned artisans, these creators carry a craft that has been passed down through generations, shaping families, sustaining communities, and preserving identity.

Their medium is organic baobab bark, carefully harvested through respectful, sustainable debarking cycles that protect the trees and honour the land. With this fibre, they weave rugs, mats, baskets, and heritage artifacts that carry the warmth of their hands and the wisdom of their ancestors. Their earthy tones and dyes come from organic trees and plants they prepare themselves, creating a palette that feels grounded, natural, and unmistakably African.
